After reading the fall previews for Days of Our Lives, I have to say I feel like I've been doused with ice water. The viewers are being promised a fight between Rafe and EJ for Sami's heart. Yippee! (Please infer the sarcasm in my tone because my yippee was just dripping with it). My question would be, why is there a fight? Rafe loses. Game over. Hello Ejami!! What am I missing?
Oh, that's right. The writers and producers of DOOL are determined to never let fans see EJami come to fruition. They like to taunt and tease us for SIX long years while never giving us what the majority of fans want to see. They like to waste all the hot, steamy chemistry that Alison Sweeney and James Scott share on screen. Ok, fine. EJami has to work for it. That's fair. It is a soap opera, afterall. (although let's not forget how DOOL totally destroyed the chemistry Sami shared with Brandon once upon a time by teasing us for years with Brami until we just stopped caring.)
But please explain why the hell the triangle would include Rafe Hernandez? Rafe hasn't wanted anything to do with Sami since February when he found out Sami slept with EJ when Johnny went missing. And let's be honest. We all know Rafe was secretly happy about what Sami had done because it gave Rafe the green light to go after Sami's slut sister, Carrie. Rafe also wasted no time at all becoming Nicole's BFF and claiming to father her child which is a forever commitment and one he knew Sami wouldn't be happy about.
But the kicker - the REAL insult - is that Rafe wanted nothing to do with Sami until Carrie left town and gave Rafe "permission" to go back to Sami since he couldn't have Carrie. If that doesn't make you want to vomit, you aren't a real fan of Sami Brady's. Rafe Hernandez is a waste of space loser who couldn't keep from falling all over himself when he laid eyes on Carrie just like all the other guys in Sami's past. With the exception of one. EJ Dimera. He's never even looked Carrie's way.
EJ and Sami belong together. They are THE couple of Days of Our Lives. The writer's need to figure this out before it's too late.
