James Scott, interview with Michael Fairman, June 18, 2010

  • James Scott: Alison is just wonderful. I can’t think of a better way to spend your time than kissing Alison Sweeney. It’s just a perfect way to spend an afternoon. And if things do go south, then that will be the one thing I will miss most.

Goodbye Ejami

As a soap opera fan, I am well aware of the ups and downs a fan must endure before a favorite couple can be together.  I'm not one of those fans that throws a fit when it's not always sunshine and roses for my favorite pair.  But it's been a six year wait for me and I am officially heartbroken.

At the end of 2011, after months and months of no Ejami interaction, EJ Dimera and Sami Brady fell into eachothers arms after hearing their son had been killed and had what is now infamously known across the internet as "grief sex".  And while it wasn't pretty, it had Ejami fans screaming with glee. The Grief Sex incident was raw and gritty.  It was passionate and violent.  It was all Ejami fans had been missing for months.  EJ and Sami were finally saying all they needed to say.  They threw it all out there.  The shooting of EJ, the kidnapping of Sydney, the criminal activity, the lies, the betrayal. All of it right out on the table.  Yet, at the same time, there was compassion and comfort and quite honestly it was one of the best scenes I have ever watched on Days of Our Lives. It reminded fans why they love this couple.  EJ and Sami bring chemistry like no one else can.  It can't be denied.  Not for long.

For months afterward grief sex things were quiet on the EJami front.  Then Rafe found out about Ej and Sami.  It was the start of five happy months of Ejami.  There was a slow build from hatred and mistrust to forgiveness and trust then to friendship and romance.  I squealed like a teenage school girl with every grin and every near kiss.  Romance was back in the afternoon and I was loving it.  And then BAM! It was over.  Just like that.  Ejami was gone.

The rehired writers didn't like what the new writers had done in their absence and set about erasing all that the new writers had done in the past year.  Hello again, Rafe.  Only, the writers don't seem to understand they can't erase the past year.  They can't erase the year that I watched Rafe cheat on Sami with her sister Carrie and then follow Carrie around like a little puppy hoping she'll pick him over Austin.  They can't erase the year I watched Rafe not give a flying shit about Sami and who she loved or who she was involved with.  They can't erase my memory.  They can't take it back.  We haven't forgotten.  And we won't forgive.  Rafe is a Carrie lover just like all the others and Sami Fans will not accept him as Sami's mate, not ever again.  But the writers don't seem to give a shit about that.

And now EJ is blackmailing Rafe to keep Rafe and Sami apart.  It's upsetting that these writers don't know EJ and Sami.  Maybe they need to watch a little Ejami history.  EJ has ALWAYS loved Sami.  And while Sami likes to deny it, Sami has ALWAYS loved EJ.  It's how it will always be.  So screw you, writers.  Your writing is predictable.  Sami will find out.  Sami will be mad at EJ.  Sami will fall into Rafe's arms.  Well, yippee for the 5 SAFE fans out there. But news flash, you lousy Days Writers.  You may have killed Ejami.  Maybe you even feel proud of yourselves.  But you won't be around forever.  Writers come and go on Days of Our Lives.  (Some go rather quickly. Don't get too comfy).  But EJami is forever.

Lisa Rinna in Car Accident

Lisa Rinna, who plays Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives, was in a car accident on Friday morning after dropping her daughter off at school.  Rinna tweeted about the accident saying "Angels watching over me! I was just in a car accident so lucky the guy turned right from the left lane and I was in the right lane Bam ... I'm OK! Very lucky. Car not so much."

She later tweeted, "Little shaken up that's for sure but I'm OK! Could have been really bad. I'm taking a deep breath and relaxing trying to stop shaking. Scary."

"I'm good and a car can be fixed! Thank my angels for keeping me safe and no kids in the car! Lordie, who knew I'd be spending the day like this. As I always say - could be A lot worse!"

Glad to know Lisa's ok and to know that Lisa does regular mom stuff like take her kids to school.

Damn You, Rafe!

Today's episode of Days of Our Lives had me cursing Rafe Hernandez, the biggest hypocrite in Salem. Rafe shows up at Sami's door, gawks at her in her lovely pink dress, then tells Sami what a fool she is for going on a date with EJ.  The pompous ass actually suggested to Sami that she be alone because hell, it wouldn't kill her to be independent!  When insulting Sami did nothing but cause her to slam the door in his face, Rafe invited himself in and declared he was concerned for Sami's children because they've been through a lot the past few months.  What a load of shit!

Rafe doesn't care one whit about Sami's children.  What Rafe cares about, and what Rafe has always cared about, is keeping EJ away from his own children. Rafe likes the thrill of taking from EJ what belongs to EJ.  Rafe encouraged Sami to hide Grace from EJ.  Rafe encouraged Sami to keep Sydney and Johnny from EJ.  And the second Rafe found out Nicole was pregnant, he vowed to keep EJ away from that baby too.  Rafe isn't concerned for Sami's children.  He's concerned EJ might actually get to be a real father to them.

Are we supposed to believe that Rafe loves Sami? Is that supposedly why Rafe kissed Sami today? I call bullshit. Rafe doesn't love Sami.  He constantly puts her down.  He fell all over himself panting after Carrie when that disloyal bitch came to town. Rafe didn't care if Sami was with Lucas or EJ as long as he could hook up with Sami's sister and screw EJ over one more time by denying him his baby.  Rafe's a shit and I'm fed up with having SAFE shoved down my throat. Declaring his love for Carrie was the ultimate betrayal and it's one I'll never forgive Rafe for.

Get off my screen, Rafe. And get out of Sami's life.  She doesn't need your judgments or Carrie's leftovers. EJ Dimera, I know you are being shitted on once again by the lovely writers Gary Tomlin and Chris Whitesell (who should be receiving tons of hate mail from Ejami fans!) but do hang in there. You are the only one worthy of Samantha Brady. We EJami fans will stick by you and forgive all the bullshit you will be forced to do and/or say under writers who clearly hate you and support SAFE / Galen Gering for their own personal agendas while disregarding Ejami fans who outnumber SAFE supporters 5 to 1.

Here's to Gary Tomlin and Chris Whitesell pulling their heads out of their asses, or to the two getting fired! Either works.  Ejami Forever!  :)

It's a Date!

It's all smiles for Sami Brady and EJ Dimera on today's episode of Days of Our Lives.  It was all smiles for me as well.  Nothing says happiness and squealing school girl glee like a day of Ejami scenes.

EJ and Sami ran into each other in the hallway of their apartment building after having parted ways earlier in the day for EJ to meet with the Governor and resign as Mayor.  Sami asked EJ if he'd like to come in and EJ practically darted in with a "Darling, I thought you'd never ask," which was absolutely the cutest thing. EJ and Sami flirted for a bit and Sami got around to asking EJ to dinner to which he happily accepted.

The best part about EJami scenes is EJ.  EJ lights up when he's with Sami.  He was smiling and goofing and he seemed giddy. When Sami asked where in the world was the real EJ Dimera, Ej told her that he felt lighthearted and liberated.  EJ asked if he could plan the date himself for tomorrow night.  He told Sami that he wanted it to be perfect to which she teased him and said it shouldn't take 24 hours to make a phone call.  Ej told her in the interest of full disclosure there was another reason he wanted to move the date to tomorrow.  It gave him more time to look forward to it.  Awwww.

We know from the spoilers that the EJami date isn't going to happen because of Rafe.  Stupid Rafe. I don't know what the Gary Tomlin, the Head Writer for Days, plans to do with Ejami and in my opinion it isn't looking so good.  But I will enjoy every moment James Scott and Alison Sweeney are on screen together.  Their chemistry is unmatched and I haven't felt this excited for EJami in a long time!

No Shooting Eachother and No Cloning Anything? Dull, Dull, Dull!

Today on DOOL, EJ asks Sami out on a date to the Green Mountain Lodge for lunch.  Sami agrees to go and EJ leans in for a kiss.  Sami stops EJ to give him some conditions if they are really going to do this.  "No shooting each other, no cloning anything, no kidnapping or lying,"  to which EJ replies "Dull, Dull, Dull.  Look at you.  You are a picture of domesticate."  When Sami sticks her hand out to shake on it, EJ readily shakes and then gets the kiss he was waiting for.

And here I sit squealing with delight!  Unfortunately, I have to get my EJami scenes in between stomach churning SAFE scenes.  The scene prior to EJami's pact had Rafe and Sami getting close.  Sami asked Rafe how he felt about her and Sami was a bit too close to Rafe's face if you want to know my opinion.  Before Rafe could answer, EJ knocked on the door and declared to Samantha that he had a surprise for her.  Nosey Rafe wanted to know what it was and EJ delightfully changed the subject to Nicole's baby which served as a reminder to Sami that Rafe was having a baby with Nicole.  Gosh, you gotta love how slick EJ is.  Upon mention of Nicole, Sami quickly dismissed Rafe out of her apartment to which Rafe replied "Oh. Right. Guess I misread the situation here."  Sami continued to usher Rafe to the door and as he turned to leave Rafe looked at Sami and said "Really?" and Sami just shut the door without a word.  Oh my. Sami's at her finest when she's being bitchy. Alison Sweeney has my heart.  <3

Now what I didn't like today was Miss Hope Brady and that meddling little look she gave after she heard EJ tell one of the governor's aides that he was resigning in order to more time with his family.  We've already seen Hope encourage Rafe to hand deliver Sami's hankie that he'd found in the Square. Let's hope Hope minds her own business and leaves Sami and EJ alone.

Lisa Rinna exiting Days of Our Lives Again!

It seems that Lisa Rinna, who plays Billie Reed on NBC's Days of Our Lives, will be leaving Salem again.  “She's leaving so she can do all of the 500 other things she loves to do. She's working on her Belle Gray line for QVC, she’s writing another diet and fitness book, plus she’s developing a vitamin supplement line and lingerie line. She’s also in talks to do a panel-type talk show,” a friend of Lisa's said.

Before her most recent return, Billie Reed was last seen on Days of Our Lives in 2005.  Since Billie's return to Salem in March 2012 the character hasn't been given much of a storyline.  Billie was a sounding board for Austin during his Carrie problems, and helped Kate with Countess W. for a short time.  She flirted a bit with Daniel Jonas, and harassed EJ for a bit about setting up John.  But we never really saw a meaty storyline given to Billie.  It's almost as if the writer's don't know what to do with the character of Billie if they don't have her chasing around Bo Brady, which just goes back to what I said originally:  Billie Reed is finished.  We've heard all of her story.  Sometimes it's important for the writer's to realize this and to move on.

Good luck to Lisa Rinna.  I happened to love her when she played Billie Reed the first go around and was a huge Billie/Bo fan when Robert Kelker-Kelley played Bo.  But alas, those days are gone.  I wish Lisa all the best and much success.

Chemistry Between Alison Sweeney and Galen Gering Feels Contrived

There's nothing worse than watching a couple on NBC's Days of Our Lives whose actors have zero chemistry together. You know it's bad when the writer's begin writing into the actual dialogue of the show how we the viewer should feel about certain characters or after particular scenes.  This is what is currently happening with Alison Sweeney and Galen Gering as Sami Brady and Rafe Hernandez respectively.

On yesterday's show, Sami was mugged and hurt her wrist in the process.  And in a very fake fashion, Sami fell on top of Rafe.  Rafe disgustedly asked Sami, "Could you get off me?" After bringing Sami to the hospital Rafe and Sami had a little spat. It was a stupid little back-n-forth on who was right about her wrist and got more serious when Sami questioned Rafe about being Nicole's baby's father.  If Rafe is the dad, Sami wondered, why isn't he going with Nicole to her doctor appointment? There was lots of "What's it to you?" and "I don't want to talk about this with YOU," from Rafe and equally snotty responses from Sami.  As I watched I honestly felt like these people hated each other.  Rafe came off as annoyed and hassled.  Sami came off as contemptuous and slightly disgusted.

But then Nicole came in.  She said to Rafe "Question is, will you betray yourself for the woman you love?"  When Rafe denied he's in love with Sami, Nicole said "Well, seeing you two a little earlier, you could have fooled me."  Nicole later said "Okay. Think what you want. But the eyes don't lie. You two look like you haven't even been apart."   And all I was thinking was "What the hell did I miss?"  What I saw wasn't even close to what Nicole declared to have seen.  Nicole apparently saw hidden passion and love in Rafe and Sami's eyes. I saw annoyance and contempt. What I saw with Rafe and Sami was a couple of strangers who didn't ever want to get to know one another.

If we are supposed to see chemistry between Rafe and Sami, then the actors actually need to have chemistry.  And Alison Sweeney and Galen Gering don't. And it's insulting that the writer's think I can't form my own opinion based on what I see and that instead I need them to tell me what I saw and how I felt about it.  The banter with Rafe and Sami doesn't come across as fiery and passionate the way Sami and EJ's fights always do.  The fights with Rafe and Sami seem to come from a place of disgust and dislike. Sami being with someone who genuinely dislikes her as a person is insulting and degrading. That's not the "romance" I want to see.

Does Galen Gering (Rafe) have Days of Our Lives Head Writers in his back pocket?

Galen Gering has worked on NBC's Days of Our Lives since October 2008 portraying Rafe Hernandez, an FBI agent hired to protect Samantha Brady from the "evil" EJ Dimera.
For fans of Days of Our Lives, Rafe and SAFE (Sami & Rafe) have always been controversial.  For some fans, Rafe was a breath of fresh air.  He was viewed as the good guy Sami always needed to help Sami settle down and lose all the chaos that had always characterized her life.

For other fans, Rafe was the death of all we loved about Sami.  We had to say goodbye to passionate, impulsive Sami.  We watched for months as she cleaned her apartment, had sex with Rafe, and cried about losing custody of her children.  Gone was the Sami who had a plan. Gone was the Sami who'd do anything (and by anything I mean anything!) to keep her children safe. Gone was the Sami who acted first and worried about the consequences later. The Sami who replaced her was just a shell of who we once loved.  We mourned her.

And then Days of Our Lives Executive Producer and Head Writers were fired! Gary Tomlin was Executive Producer for Days of Our Lives from Sept. 2008 - Sept. 2011. Dena Higley and Christopher Whitesell worked as Head Writers from 2008 - August 2011.  They were responsible for storylines such as all that was Rafe and SAFE, the Nick Fallon stalker story, Kate's lung cancer, Hope's prison storyline including Jen's heart transplant!, Chloe as a prostitute, the awful way Louis Sorel was treated as Vivian Alamain, Taylor Walker with EJ Dimera.  Horribly awful things is what I'm trying to get at.

The new writer's came in and fixed alot of the mess. Suddenly we saw our beloved impulsive, passionate Sami again.  We saw the beginnings of Ejami and the ruination of SAFE because honestly, who can ever forgive Rafe for wanting Carrie? We saw Taylor Walker removed from Salem along with that loser Quinn.  We saw John and Marlena returning.  Good things were happening.  And then BAM! The new writers are FIRED and guess who's back in? Gary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell, authors of all that's awful.

Now what are we seeing on Days of Our Lives?  Oh look, there's Nick Fallon. And my goodness, are they seriously trying to work Rafe back in with Sami after having that selfish little slut Carrie tell Rafe he should go back to Sami since Carrie was leaving with Austin?  You've got to be kidding me.  But it all fits, doesn't it?  Galen Gering as Rafe was Gary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell's little invention.  SAFE was their stupid idea.  Nick too, for that matter.  And because Gary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell are pompous asses, they think they know better than us what we fans want to see.

Well, news flash Mr. Tomlin and Mr. Whitesell: SAFE sucks.  Do some damn research. Scour the internet, read the blogs and forums.  Safe doesn't work on any level. Not for those who enjoy Rafe and not for those who love Sami. SAFE isn't what we want to see.  EJami far outscores the competition, with Lumi coming in a close second (and you'll have to debate a Lumi fan is you want to get away with this statement!) SAFE doesn't even register on the richter scale.

Mr. Tomlin and Mr. Whitesell, we might be okay with the dead coming back to life, the dopplegangers, the devil possessed, and mind control switches - but we aren't okay with a husband going after his wife's sister no matter how hard you try to sell it.  Galen's been around for 4 years. He's a MINOR character.  SAFE no longer works. It's time for Rafe to go. The next time you arrogant asses fire someone, how about Galen Gering instead of canning fan favorites like Peter Reckell and Matthew Ashford.

EJAMI or SAFE?

EJ or Rafe?

Looks like we're getting a Ejami vs Safe storyline for the fall.  Who's your pick?

Eric Brady as a priest?

Days of Our Lives has confirmed that Greg Vaughan has been cast as Eric Brady, Sami's twin brother and Nicole Walker's first love interest. On August 13th, Kristian Alfonso tweeted a picture of herself, Eric Matsoff (Brady), and Greg Vaughan on the set.  In the photo it looks as if Eric has become a priest.  In an interview with EW, Vaughan said this about his new character: “He’s been a world photojournalist. He’s just a guy who has a found a new direction in life. He has kind of re-gravitated in a different direction, more so than what the audience expects. The question will most likely be why he has chosen this new direction in life.”

I have to say my first opinion of this is WHAT? Who in the world wants to watch Eric Brady as a priest? I was already having a hard time with Greg Vaughan being Alison Sweeney's twin because Vaughan looks much older than Sweeney from the photos I've seen.  But a priest?  We did the priest thing with John Black a few years back and unless someone's gonna be possessed by the devil then I'm not really into doing it again. Hopefully bed-hopping Nicole will get Eric to turn from the priesthood.

Let's close the book on Rafe, Sami

After reading the fall previews for Days of Our Lives, I have to say I feel like I've been doused with ice water.  The viewers are being promised a fight between Rafe and EJ for Sami's heart. Yippee! (Please infer the sarcasm in my tone because my yippee was just dripping with it).  My question would be, why is there a fight?  Rafe loses. Game over. Hello Ejami!!  What am I missing?

Oh, that's right. The writers and producers of DOOL are determined to never let fans see EJami come to fruition. They like to taunt and tease us for SIX long years while never giving us what the majority of fans want to see. They like to waste all the hot, steamy chemistry that Alison Sweeney and James Scott share on screen.  Ok, fine.  EJami has to work for it.  That's fair. It is a soap opera, afterall. (although let's not forget how DOOL totally destroyed the chemistry Sami shared with Brandon once upon a time by teasing us for years with Brami until we just stopped caring.)

But please explain why the hell the triangle would include Rafe Hernandez? Rafe hasn't wanted anything to do with Sami since February when he found out Sami slept with EJ when Johnny went missing. And let's be honest.  We all know Rafe was secretly happy about what Sami had done because it gave Rafe the green light to go after Sami's slut sister, Carrie. Rafe also wasted no time at all becoming Nicole's BFF and claiming to father her child which is a forever commitment and one he knew Sami wouldn't be happy about.

But the kicker - the REAL insult - is that Rafe wanted nothing to do with Sami until Carrie left town and gave Rafe "permission" to go back to Sami since he couldn't have Carrie.  If that doesn't make you want to vomit, you aren't a real fan of Sami Brady's.  Rafe Hernandez is a waste of space loser who couldn't keep from falling all over himself when he laid eyes on Carrie just like all the other guys in Sami's past.  With the exception of one.  EJ Dimera.  He's never even looked Carrie's way.

EJ and Sami belong together.  They are THE couple of Days of Our Lives.  The writer's need to figure this out before it's too late.

EJ officially a Dimera again!

When last we saw Ian McAllister he gave EJ and Stefano some shocking news.  The letter from Alice denying EJ as Stefano's son was a forgery.  The blood test they took to verify the letter was genuine had been altered.  EJ is Stefano's son and all is right with the world.

EJ is still very angry with his father and it may take months to forgive Stefano for his hurtful rejection.  But EJ will forgive him in time.  Afterall, they're family.

Will Nick Fallon's return to Salem reveal a secret about Johnny Dimera's paternity?

In 2007, Nick Fallon worked at Salem University Hospital.  When Sami Brady was pregnant with her twins, Johnny and Allie, busybody Kate Roberts blackmailed Nick into altering DNA test results for Sami's twins to make it appear that EJ Dimera was the father to both babies.  Nick was always determined to do a real test and eventually came clean with everyone. He ran a real DNA test which proved both Johnny and Allie were Lucas Horton's.

After Sami had the twins, EJ commented that the twins looked as if they could have different fathers.  After some convincing, Sami agrees to have another DNA test done on the twins.  Sami left the hospital while this test was being performed and it was EJ who received the results first. The results of this new test show EJ to be Johnny's father and Lucas to be Allie's.

But now that Nick's back (and I can not think of a single reason for his return) maybe he is here to drop an unhappy little bombshell on everyone.  Maybe the DNA test he ran originally was correct.  Maybe Lucas is indeed Johnny's father too.  This would be an interesting turn of events.  We all know Lucas wouldn't allow EJ to father Johnny in any way if Lucas found out Johnny was his son.  A war would surely ensue. And what would Sami do? Who would she side with?

I hope this doesn't happen but with Days anything is possible.  I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Nicole Walker's questionable behavior after Paternity Test Results

On Wednesdays episode of Days of Our Lives the results of Nicole's paternity test were in. Rafe Hernandez is the father of Nicole's baby.  We all know Nicole switched the labels on Rafe's and EJ's DNA samples. And it's no surprise that Daniel didn't switch them back.  But here's what I don't get:  What the hell is going on with Nicole and Dr. Dan?  Am I the only one who found the kiss between Nicole and Daniel to be completely out of left field and kindof creep-ish of Daniel to do? Daniel's no stranger to CreepsterVille (Remember Chelsea? and then the cheating on Chelsea with her grandma? Yeah, creepy!) but I was completely caught off guard when Nicole and Daniel started making out earlier this week.

After the paternity results were given yesterday EJ does the typical I-don't-believe-it speech and then heads out.  Loser Rafe, with his pathetic attempt to steal EJ's life and children for the millionth time, follows close behind. Nicole and Daniel are left alone in Daniel's office and Nicole immediately begins thanking him for not switching the DNA samples back to their original labels. Daniel made a speech about how he didn't make the decision lightly (The decision seems awfully judgy and self-righteous if you ask me!)

Nicole then proceeds to hug Daniel in a very provocative way and with a devious little grin on her face. What exactly was that about? Is she slutting herself out in typical Old School-Nicole fashion for favors from the men of Salem? It all seemed very peculiar.

If you missed the bizarre exchange between Nicole and Daniel check it out below.

Soap Opera Digest reports Casting for Eric Brady underway!

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Days of Our Lives has starting casting for Eric Brady, Sami's twin brother.  It's been reported that the actors are testing with Arianne Zucker (Nicole).  Oh My God! I am so excited!  I'm a little bummed that Jensen Ackles won't be reprising the role cause man, he was nice to look at. <sigh> But I'm excited for Eric Brady to return for lots of reasons!

It won't hurt to have another guy in Salem in Sami's corner (although Eric does have that pesky history of siding with Carrie over Sami, but let's forget about that for now.  Carrie's leaving so to hell with good luck to her.) Also, I love that the test actors are working with Arianne.  Eric and Nicole were cute back in the day so hooray for Ernicole fans; but more importantly if Nicole is with Eric then Nicole is NOT with EJ and that makes me happier than I have been in months!  With Nicole out of the way, there's no stopping Ejami.  I can't wait!

I have long said that the Days of Our Lives cast is seriously lacking in the 20s and 30s age group.  That needs to change if Days have any hope of being given a new contract in 2013.  The addition of Eric Brady is a step in the right direction. I can't wait to see him in Salem.  Way to go, DOOL.

Will Horton Arrested For Killing Stefano Dimera

It was no surprise that Stefano Dimera wound up dead on Monday's episode of Days of Our Lives. Stefano Dimera has been ruining lives in Salem for 30 years.  That's bound to create a few enemies.  The surprise comes when Will Horton is arrested for Stefano's shooting.  And it will be EJ Dimera who bails Will out of jail.

There's lots of suspects floating around town.  In fact, most everyone in Salem could probably come up with a reason to kill Stefano Dimera and be completely justified in doing so.  But it was the way Stefano was killed that pisses me off.  Stefano was shot in the back! In the back! While listening to music! Who does that? Whoever killed Stefano is quite the coward and deserves a lengthy prison sentence.

But back to Will.  Will isn't the killer.  If Will was that angry at Stefano for forcing him to tell Rafe about Sami and EJ's grief sex, he would have killed Stefano months ago.  Why would Will be this angry about it now? Is it because EJ knows that Will told and threatened to destroy Will?  If that is the logic Will is following, then I'm sure Will wouldn't kill EJ's father for goodness sakes! If EJ was angry at Will for losing Nicole, think how angry he'd be if Will was Stefano's killer!  It's stupid that Will is even a suspect.  Ok, so Will has a habit of shooting Dimeras in the back. Not a good sign.

Let's hope the Salem PD clears Will of all charges soon.  The Salem PD doesn't have the greatest reputation for using intelligence or reason when solving crimes around town, but perhaps this time things will be different.

A Classic WhoDunit - Stefano Dimera Turns Up "Dead" on June 4th

Stefano Dimera (Joe Mascolo) has been terrorizing the residents of Salem and particularly the Brady family for over 30 years. His latest stunt almost killed John, Marlena, Bo, and Hope. (I won't mention the other two who were almost killed in the same explosion because quite honestly I'm sad Stefano didn't succeed.) On June 4, Stefano will turn up dead of a gunshot wound and just about everyone in Salem has a reason to have delivered the fatal shot.  Let's take a look at the long list of suspects.

1 - Abe Carver.   Lexie is dying and according to Abe it's all Stefano's fault.  If Stefano hadn't allowed   Andre to run around Salem, Lexie would never have been held captive in the poison filled tunnels.  The cops discover Abe's gun in the Mansion after the shooting.

2 - Lexie Carver.  She's dying and she has to leave behind her autistic child and if she follows Abe's logic it's all Stefano's fault. I'd want to kill him too if I were her.

3 - Kate Roberts - Kate's a slut.  Let's be realistic.  Not only is she a slut, but she's a devious slut and she's no stranger to planning people's deaths and carrying out those plans. Countess Wilhelmina was a big deal to Kate and she felt as if she had been robbed of it.  Kate's tried to murder for less than that.  Kate's fingerprints are also found on the gun in the mansion.

4 - EJ Dimera - Of course EJ is evil enough to do it (so says all you EJ haters! I do NOT agree).  And EJ does pull a gun on Stefano prior to the deadly shooting, but he cannot pull the trigger and leaves without having shot Stefano.  Or did he?

5 - John, Marlena, Bo, Hope, Roman.  These people have all the same reasons for wanting to kill Stefano so I listed them together.  Jarlena and Bope have had their lives wrecked multiple times by Stefano Dimera and you can't really blame them for wanting the guy dead.

6 - Will Horton.  Poor Will.  The kid has been through some serious emotional stuff lately.  Not only did he come out to his parents, but Will also confessed that he deliberately let Rafe overheard him telling Sonny about Ej and Sami's grief sex. Will did this because Stefano threatened him. Now Stefano knows Will confessed to EJ and I'm sure Steffie wasn't happy about it.  Interestingly enough it's Will who is eventually arrested for Stefano's death.

Who do you think will be guilty of "killing" Stefano? Are you glad Stefano is finally getting what he deserves? The rumor is Joe Mascolo is leaving the show so it's possible Stefano's "death" will stick.

Days of Our Lives Molly Burnett Confirms Exit

It's a sad day for all Melanie Jonas fans and for Days of Our Lives in general. Molly Burnett (Melanie) has confirmed she will be leaving Days of Our Lives when her contract expires in June. Read the exclusive Digest interview here. "Going in, I knew it was a four-year contract and look, it's been the most amazing experience. I look at it as four years of the best training any actor could have ever been given," she told the magazine.

**updated to include last airdate for Molly Burnett is September 27, 2012.

With Melanie leaving I feel the already weak 20-something crowd in Salem is even weaker which doesn't bode well for Days of Our Lives if they want to appeal to the highly coveted 18-49 age group. What do you think? Do you feel DOOL made a mistake by not resigning Molly Burnett or are you glad to see her go?

Was Sami selfish in the way she handled Will's coming out?

Last week on Days of Our Lives, Will finally revealed to Sami and Lucas that he is gay. Sami had a rough time dealing with this revelation. Sami insisted Will was just confused because he had been going through alot lately. Eventually, Sami bolted from the room.

Do you think Sami handled the situation well?

Is DOOL's Ian McAllister a Dimera?

I'd be laughing too!
There was a rumor a few weeks back that Ian McAllister's cane would show a symbol of the Phoenix. As we all know, the Phoenix is the symbol Stefano Dimera uses as his way of saying he always rises from the ashes. When Bo and Hope discovered the paperweight in Alice's things, they knew it came from Stefano because of the Phoenix on it.  I never did see the Phoenix on Ian's cane. That isn't really saying much because I tend to fast forward all of Ian's scenes since I find them incredibly boring and find Ian Buchanan to be a dreadful addition to the Days cast.  However, I don't think I missed the Phoenix on Ian's cane. It just wasn't there.

So, we're left with speculation.  Who is Ian McAllister? Is he working for Stefano? Does Ian know something that perhaps Stefano doesn't know in regards to the Dimera family tree? Perhaps Ian is Stefano's brother and EJ's father.  Wouldn't that be a hoot?  If the writers for Days of Our Lives made Ian Mcallister a Dimera and also EJ's father, I suppose I could handle the insufferable EJ-Is-Not-Stefano's-Son storyline.

What do you think? Should Ian McAllister be a Dimera? Or should Days of Our Lives just send this actor packing with no ties to anyone in Salem? Do you like the idea of EJ being Ian's son?

Sami Keeping It Real

Did anyone else love it on Thursday's episode of Days of Our Lives when Sami confronted Rafe and told him that the Salem Six were "unbelievably selfish" to pretend they were dead and put their families through hell.  This is why I love Sami.  She's the only one that had the balls to say what everyone else was thinking. Hell, it's what I was thinking.  How cruel were Marlena, John, Hope, Bo, Rafe, and Carrie (the latter for all sorts of reasons we won't get in to now) to have their families believe they were dead?  Did they even consider for a second how that would affect the smallest of their loved ones? Can you imagine if someone had told poor Ciara that her Mommy and Daddy were dead? The whole plan to let everyone believe they were dead seemed mean and unnecessary especially if Shane and Roman were going to tell the truth the following day.

I loved how Sami refused to apologize for her outburst and told Lucas she would not "relax"!  Way to go, Sami.  Thanks for saying what I so desperately wanted to say!  Here's another example of how Lucas isn't right for Sami. Lucas always apologizes for Sami and tries to correct her and reign her in. It's annoying. EJ would have been standing right there beside Sami insisting someone apologize to herTeam EJAMI!

Bravo Chandler Massey!

Bravo to Chandler Massey for giving the outstanding performance of the week as a grieving and angry Will Horton.  On Tuesday's episode (5/8) of Days of Our Lives Shane Donovan and Roman gathered loved ones to the Brady Pub to inform them that Marlena, John, Hope, Bo, Rafe, and Carrie had died in a safehouse explosion. While I found this lie awful and unnecessary, it caused some high drama which made for an entertaining and moving episode.

Sami burst into tears upon hearing the news and threw herself into her father's arms. While clinging to Roman, Sami asked how he could let them all die.  She began to tell Roman the explosion and the deaths were Roman's fault.  Ok, so it wasn't Sami's best moment but she was grieving the "loss" of her husband, mother, and sister.  That's alot to take in and she was saying the first things that entered her mind without using a filter which is so typical of Sami (and endearing to some of us).  Will became furious with his mother's outbursts and he let Sami have it. He accused her of acting as if she was the only one in the room that had lost someone, then declared Sami should be the one who felt guilty since she treated Marlena like crap and cheated on Rafe.  Chandler Massey couldn't have done a better job in this scene.  He mixed rage with grief in a palpable, realistic way and I felt every tear that fell.

Chandler Massey is a huge talent and I'm thrilled he is a part of Salem.  I am looking forward to more moments like this from him.

Sami and Lucas Back Together Again? Not So Fast!

Last week on "Days of Our Lives" viewers saw Sami Brady and Lucas Horton reconnecting.  Sami and Lucas spent a pleasant day at the Horton Square with their children, Will and Sydney. Then after they had rid themselves of the children, Lucas and Sami spent some time making out in full view of both Kate and EJ neither of whom were happy by what they saw.  Of course we all saw what came next. Back at Sami's apartment Lucas and Sami wandered off to the bedroom where they had sex. Could it be? Lumi back together again?

Oh, but wait. We didn't see a love scene between Sami and Lucas.  We were only privy to the aftermath of the lovemaking.  Shirtless Lucas and shirt-stealer Sami came to the kitchen and started the kind of playful banter that comes only after having just had fun in the sack. Then crazy Kate, who enters without knocking or announcing herself, gives them an earful about how disgusted she is (On that, Ms. Roberts, we can agree!)and completely ruins the moment.

But aren't we missing something? Where was the love scene? Where was that anticipated moment when the couple you are rooting for finally gives in to their emotions and falls into bed together? Isn't that part of the fun of watching a Soap Opera? Where was the lead up or the anticipation? Now granted, I am not a fan of Lumi, obviously.  But if I were a fan of Lumi, I'd be very concerned.  From the writers treatment of Sami and Lucas' lovemaking it can mean only two things. One: Sami and Lucas were simply "hooking up". Friends with benefits, so to speak. or Two: Sami and Lucas' romp in the sack wasn't important to the story development or plot advancement.  If bringing Lumi back together was the writer's focus and objective, we'd have seen a lot more leading up to the sex scene mention.  Either way, both say Sami and Lucas aren't a real couple or one that will be together for long.

So what is the main story if not Lumi?  Why, EJAMI, of course! The slow rekindling of a friendship between Sami and EJ has been going on for months. (Did anyone else absolutely love how EJ kissed Sami's cheek when leaving her apartment?Watch it again here.) And the chemistry and sexual tension between Sami and EJ is, as always, undeniable. Sami being with Lucas but wanting EJ accomplishes several things.  It causes tension between EJ and Sami - and let's face it, both Sami and EJ are famous for wanting what they can't have. But it also creates problems for Sami with Will because he will believe that Sami is hurting his dad again and it'll fuel the hatred-fire Will has going with Sami.

So, Lumi shippers, don't be too excited. Lumi's days are numbered.  EJami is gonna happen this time and I will be enjoying every second of it as it unfolds.

EJami Family Time!

On Friday's episode of Days of Our Lives, EJ went to see Lexie at the hospital and overheard her speaking to Chad. EJ entered the room and sat with them as Lexie told Chad about her illness.  Chad was shocked and saddened by the news and decided Lexie was right about his involvement with his family.  Chad agreed that he needed to be there for Stefano, EJ, and for Theo. EJ was visibly upset although he tried to disguise the true reason. He told Chad that Chad would find now was the perfect timing to rejoin the Dimera Clan.

EJ left Lexie and Chad and headed over to Sami's apartment. He told Sami he would like to visit with the children. Sami could see EJ was upset and asked him what was wrong. EJ never really told Sami anything and Sami assumed EJ was upset about Lexie. She tried to comfort EJ as best she could and even tried to touch his arm at one point but EJ jerked away. EJ decided he should leave and not let the children see him this way but Sami insisted he stay and be around people who loved him unconditionally.  He wryly asked if she was one of those people and Sami said no, but she did so kindly and we all know she was thinking yes! :)  EJ decided to stay and spent the evening cuddled up on Sami's couch with Sydney in his arms and Johnny at his side watching a movie.  It was one of the sweetest scenes I've seen with EJ and his children.  Sami stood by looking on with a smile.

After the movie and the kids went off to bed, EJ decided to leave. Sami told him he didn't need to go and that he could stay and talk. He refused until she offered him some scotch at which point he shut the door and decided to stay.  Sami told EJ she was worried about him but wanted him to remember that he's not alone.  I thought it was fitting Sami said this to him since it's what EJ said to her when Sami was feeling low at the pub.

I'm looking forward to the "almost kiss" on Monday. Remember to support EJami! Watch live or same day DVR. Let's let the producers know we love Ejami through increased ratings!

EJ's Heartbreaking Rejection from Stefano Dimera

On Wednesdays episode of "Days of Our Lives", EJ discovered Stefano's hidden papers revealing EJ is not Stefano's son. Reeling in shock, EJ confronted his father and the resulting conversation could only be described as heartbreaking. Stefano explained how and when he came across this information and told EJ he did not know who EJ's real father is.  EJ struggled to understand why Stefano wouldn't accept him as a son despite the facts. Stefano gave one flimsy excuse after another to explain his abandonment of a son who has been so devoted to him.

EJ's pleas for his father's love were so pitiful to watch. When EJ sadly stated "But, I love you," my heart broke for him. (Watch the scene here).  Kudos to James Scott for delivering a powerful performance and for allowing fans a glimpse at the lonely little boy inside EJ that is so desperate for his father's love and approval.

EJ gave Stefano plenty of opportunity to say "This doesn't matter," "You're still my son,"  "We are still family," "I still love you," but No.  Stefano didn't say anything like that, which was hugely disappointing. In fact, I was a bit shocked that not only did Stefano refuse to accept EJ but he continuously turned the devastation EJ was facing into what Stefano himself was going through by losing a son. Stefano couldn't have been more selfish and uncaring.
Years ago Stefano Dimera endeared himself to me forever when he broke down into tears after finding out his adopted daughter, Kristen Blake, had died. I loved him for that show of emotion.  Where is that Stefano? I think the Days of Our Lives writer's have done a huge disservice to the character of Stefano. The Stefano we have known for years would not have treated his son this way - biological or not.
On a brighter note, we have not seen or heard mention of a DNA test for EJ and Stefano. This gives me hope that all of this is just some sort of charade and that this turn of events doesn't have to be permanent.  Perhaps it will come out that Stefano was testing EJ all along. Perhaps Stefano is testing EJ's love and devotion to him and how far he can push EJ's loyalty.

EJ is a Dimera. Period. And I hope this disaster is fixed soon.

Could Ian McAllister be EJ Dimera's Real Father?

We've all seen by now the awful scene in which Stefano Dimera says to himself that EJ Dimera is not his son. This has got to be the most hated manipulation of history on Days of Our Lives to date. EJ is a Dimera. Period. We don't need some pompous writer's thinking they can screw with our show. But to hell with them. They've all been fired and for that we can rejoice.  Unfortunately, we're stuck with this awful storyline and everyone is wondering who could be EJ's father.

The speculation has been John Black which I find offensive to my sensibilities considering that would make EJ a Brady and would ruin EJami for me. Besides....John? Really?

And then there's the speculation that EJ's father is Ian McAllister which makes me shudder.  For one, the character of Ian doesn't portray strength and power which I would think is an absolute must for EJ's father.  Secondly, just who the hell is Ian McAllister and does anyone really care? EJ Dimera is one of the most loved and most hated characters on Days. You don't bring in a nobody like Ian McAllister and give him such a powerful place in EJ's life. This would also disconnect EJ from any of the core families on Days of Our Lives and is a seriously bad move.

There's a rumor, too, that Lucas is Ian's son.  Remember..we were subjected to that awful trip down memory lane in which Lucas remembered Ian taking him skiing as a kid.  If Ian is both EJ and Lucas' father, then EJ and Lucas are brothers which seems a bit creepy as well considering both EJ and Lucas impregnated Sami at the same time.  Ick.

If we know anything about Stefano it's that he loves his family and his children whether they are adopted or biological.  If the writer's had stayed true to Stefano's character this bit of information Alice had kept secret wouldn't have meant a bit of difference to Stefano. EJ is Stefano's son making him a Dimera - period - no matter what any of the writers say.

EJ and Sami nearly Kiss - Week of May 7, 2012

Spoilers for week of May 7 - Sami and EJ are about to kiss but Sydney interrupts them. EJ is happy about the interruption because he doesn't want to get drawn back in to Sami.  Sami tells EJ that she is back together with Lucas and EJ laughs.

There is an explosion in the Safe House and everyone inside - Marlena, John, Bo, Hope, Carrie and Rafe - is believed to be dead.  Sami feels bad and wishes she had made things right with those who died. EJ confronts Stefano about the explosion but Stefano denies any involvement. Victor vows to make Stefano pay but Chad challenges Victor because he doesn't believe Stefano had anything to do with the explosion.

EJ spots Sami and Lucas kissing. He is more bothered by it than he wants to be. Will confronts Stefano about the "deaths".  He asks Stefano how he could kill everyone Will loves after all Will has done for Stefano. EJ overhears and wants to know what Will has done for Stefano. EJ forces Stefano to go to the memorial service to look at the damage Stefano has caused.

Roman comes into the pub after the Memorial service and informs everyone that the Safe House "dead" are actually alive.  The people in the Safe House decide Stefano must die. Carrie and Rafe decide they need to be together. Carrie is interrupted when she tries to tell Austin she wants to be with Rafe. Rafe informs Nicole that he is going to be with Carrie.

Will sees EJ and Sami in a compromising position but they assure Will that things are not as they seem.  Angrily, Will tells Sami that he was the one who shot EJ all those years ago and that EJ had blackmailed Will into working for him originally.

Billie tells EJ that Stefano helped get John released from prison.

R.I.P EJole

As a member of TeamEjami I could be considered biased in my assessment of Ejole; and maybe I am. But as a fan of Arianne Zucker and as one who loves-to-hate Nicole, I feel the death of Ejole is necessary for the preservation of Nicole Walker.

But recently things have changed. Nicole is just a fragment of the strong, spunky girl we used to see stirring up trouble and controversy. What we see now is a crying, weak, pathetic mess. What happened? EJ Dimera happened.

Maybe at one time Ejole had a chance. Nicole Walker always did accept EJ Dimera for who he was/is. On the surface, Nicole is perfect for EJ.  There's just one problem. EJ doesn't see it, nor does he want to. How many times does EJ have choose someone over Nicole before she gets it? Sami, Taylor, Sami again.

Now here is Nicole begging EJ to move away with her, to start over with her, to put her first over family, job, and past loves.  What does EJ do? He tells her what a silly idea it is and refuses to do it.  Seriously, Nicole. Do you have no pride?

EJ has done some pretty awful things to Sami and her family. But one thing EJ has never done is choose someone over Sami.  She was always his first choice. And if EJ was honest with himself, Sami still is. We know it hurts, Nicole.  We know you're sad, but you need to move on. You deserve someone who loves you wholly and completely, above anyone else.  You deserve to be more than second or third choice.

What do you think? Should Nicole go back to EJ or should she find someone who puts her first?

Next Week on Days - Sami and Lucas in Bed! and Sami and EJ get close!

Next week on Days, EJ spots Sami and Lucas kissing and is not happy.  EJ claims it's because he doesn't want another man setting up house with his children but we all know EJ still loves his Samantha and doesn't like to see her with other men. ;) Kate also sees Sami and Lucas kiss and is furious.  She confronts Lucas, then storms off to see Madison. Madison and Kate decide to work together to take Sami down.  When Kate returns to see Lucas she finds Lucas and Sami in bed together! EEK! (May 2, 2012)

Meanwhile, EJ has another confrontation with Stefano and later discovers the paternity papers that Stefano left in the open. Ej confronts Stefano who admits he doesn't know who EJ's real father is. Believing he is no longer a Dimera and realizing Chad will soon be handed everything EJ ever wanted, EJ seeks out Sami's company.  Sami and EJ have drinks together and things get close! (May 4, 2012)

Next week sounds great for Lumi fans, but it sounds good for Ejami fans too. Do you think it is a good idea for Sami to go to bed with Lucas?

Stefano Dimera is not EJ's Father

For months now, and for seemingly no reason, Stefano has been secretly sabotaging EJ and EJ's attempts to show his father that he is worthy of heading Dimera Enterprises. EJ recently learned Stefano attempted to rig the mayoral election to make it appear as if EJ had lost. EJ also learned that Stefano had stolen all the money EJ had siphoned from Basic Black. So, why was Stefano doing these things? According to the current Days of Our Lives writers, EJ is not Stefano's son.

Rumor has it that John Black will be Ej's father. If you remember, back in 2007 during the Colleen Brady and Santo Dimera storyline it was revealed that John Black was Colleen's and Santo's son. Colleen had fled to Argentina leaving her habit on the edge of a cliff leading everyone to believe Colleen was dead.  There she gave birth to Santo's son and named him Ryan.  She gave him to an orphanage and Ryan was later adopted by the Alamain family and grew up as John Black.  The Colleen/Santo storyline made John Black a Brady and a Dimera.

If the rumors are true, EJ will still be a Dimera but also a Brady which leads to some troubling problems for Ejami.  If EJ is John's son then EJ is Colleen's grandson, and Sami is Colleen's grandniece meaning Sami and Ej's grandparents were brother and sister.  It all sounds a bit incestuous if you ask me.

This kind of thing is exactly why the writer's should leave the history of Days of Our Lives alone. There is no reason to rewrite it and it causes all sorts of unexpected problems. Here's hoping the new writer's fix this ridiculous rewrite.

Do you think this rewrite is a bad idea? Or are you excited about the possibilities if EJ were John's son?

Johnny Dimera to be on FOX Pilot

Aaron and Griffin Kunitz, twins who play Johnny Dimera on Days of Our Lives, have landed the role of "Jeremy" on a new pilot for FOX entitled "Let it Go".  The show has not yet been picked up and word is expected in May as to whether or not it will be. If it is picked up, DOOL may lose two of their cutest cast members.  No word as to whether or not they will do both shows. Will you be sad to see them go?

Sami and Lucas Kiss

News is out that Sami and Lucas will share a kiss this week on Days of Our Lives. I can't say I'm happy although I have enjoyed Lucas as Sami's BFF these past few weeks.

Lucas receives a call from Autumn breaking things off with him. Sami feels it's her fault since Lucas had said time and time again that he came back to Salem to help Sami. Sami offers Lucas a job at Countess W. and Lucas decides to accept because he has overheard Kate plotting revenge against Sami and feels Sami needs someone in her corner. Lucas and Sami share a day together with Will and Allie and when Will takes Allie off to get ice cream, Sami thanks Lucas for helping Sami get on better terms with Will.  This interaction leads to a passionate kiss. See the video HERE.

According to an interview Bryan Datillo (Lucas) gave a few months back, Sami and Lucas will end up in bed together.  It's anyone's guess how that will play out, but I am hoping it's simply a "friends with benefits" situation. Sami and Ej have never really been given the chance at a real romance. I'm hoping the writer's do not throw Lumi together again without first giving Ejami a real shot.

What do you think? Are you ok with a Lumi pairing again? Or do you hope it's just a one time thing?

Ejami's Fate Depends on New Head Writers

For months after Ej and Sami's grief sex, we saw a bare minimum of interaction between the two and began to feel as if it were a dream.  "What happened?", we began to wonder. And then it happened.
We see EJ walking through Horton Square. He spots a forlorn Sami leaning against a rail. EJ turns away and our hearts drop. We plead with him to turn around, to go back, don't walk away. As if he hears us, he turns and goes to her.  And we knew he would. He had to go back because she's his Samantha. She's sad and alone and as much as he'd like to pretend he doesn't love her we know he does.
And so began Ejami once again. Our hopes soar.  Maybe this time it'll happen.  Maybe this time Ejami will get a fair chance.  Then the news came.  Head writers of "Days of Our Lives" have been fired. Again. A new writing team is being brought in. Again. So, what does that mean for Ejami? Will they be torn apart again before being given a chance?  I guess we'll have to wait till August to find out.

If you're a Team Ejami fan, you'll love Team Delena

EJ Dimera and Samantha Brady's romance over the years has been one of my all-time favorite couplings in tv history.  They have chemistry and passion that surpasses all others. But then there's Delena. **Swoon**  If you don't watch CW's Vampire Diaries, you should.

I know.  You've heard it's like Twilight or one of the countless other vampire movies, but it isn't.  It's so much more than vampires and cute boys running around with their shirts off. But yes, it has all of that too. The love triangle between the three main characters (Stefan Salvatore, Elena Gilbert, and Damon Salvatore) is one of the most beautifully written love stories I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

If you love falling in love with your characters, if you love yearning with them and crying with them, if you love holding your breath as the passion unfolds on your screen, if you love the anticipation of that first touch, that first kiss - you'll love this show.  You don't even have to be a teenager, although you may occassionally squeal like one.

Check out the video below featuring Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore (Delena).  You'll be hooked.
